The purpose of this project is to expand and enhance existing programs and services designed to reduce alcohol and other drug (AOD) use and abuse among Rutgers University students and to support the development of healthier lifestyles including recovery from addictions.
The project involves a comprehensive collaboration involving the Rutgers Alcohol and Other Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), the Rutgers Center for Communication and Health Issues (CHI), and the Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies (CAS).
What We Do
Our team, Recovery@Rutgers, works with a University AOD Task Force and Community Coalitions to expand existing environmental management strategies and develop a long range strategic plan to support campus cultures that do not view dangerous drinking and drug use as acceptable or normative.
We are expanding our programs to identify and intervene with students who have Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and to increase the number of students who have access to treatment and campus recovery support services including Recovery Housing.
